Edwin’s artistic journey began in his formative years when he, alongside notable figures like Johan Nijenhuis, organized theatrical events during their time at a Markelo lower school. Edwin’s affinity for music seamlessly complemented Johan’s creative vision, setting the stage for his remarkable career. While Johan aspired to be a film producer, Edwin was drawn to the world of music production and performance.
A Career Paved with Hits and Harmonies
In 1998, Edwin, along with Willie Oosterhuis, embarked on a transformative journey by co-presenting the television program “de Regiotap.” This partnership continued until 2005, delighting audiences and demonstrating Edwin’s ability to connect with people through music.
Throughout his illustrious career, Edwin’s musical genius has shone brightly as he produced hit songs for renowned artists such as Nick & Simon, Jeroen van der Boom, Dennie Christian, and many more. His magical touch has crafted melodies that resonate with the soul, transforming moments into memories.
In 2007, Edwin embraced his identity as an artist by releasing the single “Vandaag,” a heartfelt composition that resonated with audiences, further solidifying his place in the hearts of music enthusiasts.

Beyond the recording studio, Edwin extended his love for music and storytelling to the airwaves. Since April 12, 2009, he has graced the ears of listeners with the weekly Sterrenparade on Radio Oost. His engaging presence also shone through in the wekelijkse verzoekplatenprogramma “Ziezo Zondag,” co-hosted with Dorothy Oosting. On TV Oost, the captivating docusoap “Van Hoevelaak & Co” has enchanted audiences since April 20, 2009.
